Edmodo Lesson

I chose to use the Edmodo tool. Edmodo is a lot like Facebook. The layout and features are very similar. This website allows teachers to create an online space for their students to have discussions and share ideas. The tool also allows you to easily share classroom information with parents and use Google apps through the website as well. 

I like to share videos and images in my classroom throughout the project. I think Edmodo would benefit my students because it would allow them to have more class time to work on the projects if they watched the video before entering my room. I also like the idea of having the students share what they learned in class to reinforce the lesson. I think it's important that students talk about their work and critique their classmates, so Edmodo would be a great tool for that as well.

I think the most challenging thing about this assignment was deciding on a tool to use and learning how to navigate the new tool. I want to teach an Ancient Egyptian themed art lesson later on this year, so I decided to incorporate Edmodo into the lesson. I tried to come up with several ways for students to interact with the website so they will hopefully have an easier time making connections in the art room. 

Eighth Grade	Art
Ancient Egypt - Canopic Jars
Objectives/Standards 1.) Create works of art utilizing a variety of traditional and nontraditional media and techniques. 7.) Describe historical and cultural influences on works of art. 3.) Apply appropriate vocabulary in discussing a work of art.	Instructions Day 1 use a sharpie to write your name and class on the top of the jar cover the entire jar with plaster strips (do not cover the lid) In your sketchbook, start sketching the animal or human you would like to create for the lid of your jar At Home/Outside of Classroom Share something you learned about canopic jars and/or Ancient Egypt on Edmodo Day 2 Create the animal for the lid of your jar using air dry clay.
